12/19/18 - Project Life Weeks 38 - 42

Before I started mixing it up again I had left off on PL Week 37.
I mentioned I would jump back in time to share previous week's layouts...
so let's keep on going!

Week 38:

When I took a couple of the photos, I purposely left space for me to add journaling spots to add some handwritten journaling.
And though I didn't realize it at the time of it's creation, that "enjoy" circle mimics the Pistachio Oreo really well.
BTW - I want to express just how much I LOVED those Oreos!
I was pleasantly surprised at how well they nailed the Pistachio flavor...
If you do not like Pistachio, avoid these!

Week 39:
This one was tough to scan because of the bulkiness of some of the stickers... the colors are not 100%  true to life.
For example: the "MON" chipboard sticker is a darker cornflower blue, the pig's body is the same color as his face, and the cookie photo is brighter (the pain of bulky scans!)
Moving on...
As the journaling says, this week was short on "everyday-style" photos due to us taking a vacation.
But if we can scrap "1 photo" traditional layouts, why not 1 (or 2) photos on a Pocket Page/PL
Layout, right?

I have already shared week 40: PL Week 40
And as I went to scrap Week 41 - I realized I had only taken 2 photos that week and I that had already scrapped and shared them as a regular layout:
So I just added a tab to the side that says Wk 41 so those paying attention while flipping through my project life album won't think I skipped it:

(remember this layout?)

Finally Week 42:

A mismatch of subjects...but then aren't all PL pages pretty much that way?
Notably: Our first visit to Oak Glen for the 2018 Autumn Season,  David and I saw the original Halloween for the first time, finished book #20 (of my 25 book goal), and won and received a prize from Elle's Studio.

-Speaking of Elle's Studio... there's lots of Elle's Studio (and Studio Calico) goodies on these pages! -

Can't believe I've made it this far!
Only 10-ish weeks to go!

12/12/18 - PL Weeks 45 and 46

I truly do not like sharing my Project Life pages out of order (call it OCD, I guess) but sometimes there is a need, like when it's for a Design Team reveal.
In this case the "need" is...it's Christmas Time so I want to share more "Holiday" related PL spreads.

If you recall, I said I wasn't doing a December Daily album this year but instead incorporating my "December Daily" into my regular PL Spreads.

Today I'm sharing a couple I recently completed so you can see what I mean and (hopefully) get some inspiration.

I guess I'll just have to call the older ones I share "throwbacks"...
I hope to share a few more soon now that I'm mostly caught up.

BTW - Looking at these numbers, Week 45 and Week 46, just reminds me THAT much more that the year is almost over WOW!

(Click on layouts to enlarge and read the journaling better)

Week #45:

Week #46:

Fun Fact - This year is the most I have EVER used my date stamp, LOL
Another (Not-So) Fun Fact - I have not been able to find that Coffee Banana Smoothie again since!

I wish I could tag companies on here the way we can on Instagram; I would love to give credit to the different manufacturers.
Most items used on both layouts = Elle's Studio, Studio Calico, and Kelly Purkey

CKC November / Projects #1 and #2

Hello, hello!
Stopping by really quick-like to share 2 of  the layouts I have created so far w/ my November Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Kit:

-This is Part of  Project Life Week 32 -
The other page has already been shared (twice)

"David's 41st Birthday"

For this one I'm just "dipping my toe into" my November Counterfeit Challenge Kit.

It is a 12x12 Digital/Traditional Hybrid Layout
The layout  was created on the Project Life App and embellished in real life.
All the embellishments came from my counterfeit kit: 3 stickers, 8 enamel dots/shapes, and doodling.
I kept it simple because the photos are so beautiful I didn't want to distract from them.

From the Project Life App I used
-Page Design P
-Card Kit "Strawberry Edition"

"Happy Girl/Hello Happy"

12x12 Traditional Page
Using nothing but my November Counterfeit Kit

The photo collage was created on the Project Life App and printed at home on 5x7 photo paper.
(Yes the PL App is listed in my Counterfeit Kit Supply list)

Journaling:
"Silly Selfies with David during my Birthday Celebration"
My Birthday, last year.

I have no date or place information on this because this will sit right next to another page about this event that has all that info.

10/31/18 - Project Life Layouts Week 31 and 33

Happy Halloween!

This is me, at work, attempting to be professional but still dress up for Halloween:

Dress Pants and Cover up w/ a Snoopy Mummy T-shirt

Okay, the actual reason for my post today is:
I finished a PL page last night so I decided I would share it along w/ the one before it that I haven't yet shared, in an attempt to keep up, LOL

So here they are:

-Week 31-
(Layout completed on the Project Life App and embellished IRL)

*Week 32  -  previously shared but trying to keep things in order
(Traditional Paper Collage-Style Layout)
See the original blog post here: Week 32

-Week 33-
(Traditional Paper Collage-Style Layout)
The "33" is actually pretty gold alphas/numbers

Starting w/ the top left and making a circle:
-Discovering I can still enjoy my favorite ice cream brand w/out guilt because they have a dairy free
line.
-Received an RAK stamp set in the mail, and used one of them on this layout (check out the cute piggy)!
-Not Dairy Free (bummer) but still tasty
-Discovered one of my husbands celebrity crushes is also a vegetarian (she's actually a vegan)
This made my husband laugh because he says our looks, body structure, and style are alike and now this discovery?! Yeah, we're the same person, LOL

Just a note:
For those who don't know I am a newly converted Vegetarian. I started thinking about converting when we adopted our piggy (nearly 4 years ago).
I gave up pork right then but slowly started transitioning to a more meatless lifestyle.
I became more strict w/ the transition at the beginning of this year and by August I was full Vegetarian.
I am also Semi-Vegan meaning I try really hard to stay away from animal food products but that's still a work in progress, which is why I'm excited about my favorite ice-cream brand having dairy-free versions of their flavors!

That's all from me today.
Hope you have a fun and safe night!

10/18/18 - Project Life Week 30

On Monday I shared PL Page #32
Today I am sharing w/ you my Project Life Week #30
It is actually a 2 pager
-One Pocket Page Style (though digital)
-and One Traditional Layout

Project Life Week 30

I created this layout in the Project Life App and embellished it just slightly:
-2 stickers
-2 buttons
-Doodling (though the white circles around my Oreos was done on the app)
Though I love embellishing my digital pages w/ real-life embellishments, I didn't feel like this one needed too much.

Oh, and yes, it's ALL about food, LOL
And as I explained in my journaling (in the "Enjoy Life" section)... I'm only slightly embarrassed about it ::wink::

Also, if you read the journaling about my pancakes, you'll see that I mentioned "my traumatic morning".
What was so traumatic?
Well, the answer to that is in my 2nd page which completes my 2 page spread:

"Hamlet's First Hoof and Tusk Trimming"

I created the journaling block in the Project Life App and printed it out on regular paper.
I misjudged the size a bit … with all my experience, why didn't I realize how big a 4x6 would be, hahaha?!
But it's all good... I like the way the large Gray and White journaling block help balances out the "No, No, No Nope" Studio Calico Project Life card.

And, I just noticed...  without even planning it, the 2 pages actually match each other pretty well!

That's all from me today...
TFSB!

10/06/18 - CKC September/Project #7

Just sharing a fun little Fall Themed Page I recently created.
It is a 12x12 Digital/Traditional Hybrid Layout
 - created on the Project Life App and embellished w/ doodling and stickers
(the white doodle-y circle on the top middle photo was done on the app).

I really enjoy making these hybrid pages!

"Fall Fun/Too Soon?"

Lots of journaling, all of which I think can be read w/out my having to re-type.

BTW - all the embellishments I added to this layout are from my September Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog kit.
So I wound up completing 7 layouts w/ the kit... even if it did take me a couple of days into October to do it
#StillCounts LOL

TFSB!

09/13/18 - Another PL Catch-Up Post (Weeks 25 - 29)

Hi...
Project Bomb!

Just sharing some more Project Life Pages

- Week 25

.
.

- I shared week 26 in a previous post:

.
.

- Week 27

-Remember I told you I intermingle PL w/ Regular Layouts?

My  previously shared "July 4th"  and "Chunky Dunk" layouts are also part of this week:

.
.

- I shared week 28 in a previous post:

This week includes a few Vegas Layouts also, 2 of which I have created and previously shared and 2 that I have not yet created:

.
.

Week 29

Sorry if this is too much but I thought you might like to see how it is going to look in my album w/ the mixture of different types of layouts!
If you haven't already figured out the LARGE photos are of layouts I'm sharing for the first time and the SMALL photos are of layouts I have already shared previously.

I am enjoying this PL journey... but I am behind, both in creating and sharing.
Not giving up on either though!
I think a lot of my PL Pages will be digital since it's something I can do on my phone an it allows me to include lots of journaling which is something I struggle w/ on traditional layouts.
I also like the cleaner look of them.
I spruce them up w/ stamping (sometimes) and stickers & doodling (all the time) so I'm still getting in some hands-on creativity and it gives the layouts a more personal feel.

BTW - Pretty sure all the future generations are going to think all I did was eat, LMAO!

07/14/18 -PL Catch-up Post (Kinda)

It's been a while...
I've been scrapping up a storm but haven't been feeling the blogger vibes. Truthfully my blog doesn't get a lot of attention, and honestly I'm okay w/ it...
but it's stands to reason why I would not want to spend much time on it...
especially when I share my projects on other platforms:
Instagram and SB.com for example.
There has actually been some discussion of this on IG now that IG offers You Tube style video uploads.
I think that unless your super popular, Blogs are pretty much going by the way-side.

Anyway, here's a bit of catch-up, though just Project Life Related.

Last PL spread I shared was Week 18, so here are:
19, 20, and 21

Though I technically have completed all the way up to Week 24.
I'll share those and some of my Traditional/Non PL pages on other posts.

 Week 19
Traditional/Digital Hybrid
Journaling done on PL App directly on photo before printing it out

Week 20
Traditional/Digital Hybrid
Journaling done on PL App directly on photo before printing it out

Week 21/Page 1
Traditional

Week 21
Traditional/Digital Hybrid
Journaling done on PL App directly on photo before printing it out

I'm still enjoying the process and finding ways to change it up so that it's not the same look over and over again...cuz otherwise, I'll get bored, LOL

TFL!

05/23/18 - PL Week 17

12x12
Digital Project Life Pages
done through the Project Life App

Did I mention I was doing Project Life?
If not, know you know! :0)
...
As I navigate this journey of my first year of Project Life I have found some things about it I don't like:

1) it can be time consuming, which means it's easy to fall behind
(And as you know I do not have a lot of free time these days!)

2) I have difficulty with the journaling aspect of it.
Seems like there is a lack of journaling space when telling all the different stories of all the different photos of the week.

That's where the PL App comes in handy:
1) can do it on my phone, any time, any where.
+ I don't have to worry about having my supplies on hand

2) W/ their new feature of "Freeform Text" I can journal directly on my photos!
I know what you're probably thinking... it doesn't allow me to use my own handwriting.
And I agree w/ the importance of using my own handwriting, but... I have used my own handwriting on PLENTY of other layouts, in fact it's my main way of journaling, so I think it's okay if there are a few layouts/projects I don't use it on.

BTW - another testament to it's quickness and convenience... I finished these but still have Week's #15 and #16, which I'm doing in Traditional Format, sitting unfinished on my scrappy table, LOL

It will never completely replace traditional but, I like that it helps me catch up/keep going and I like the look of digital mixed in w/ traditional.

Week 17 -PG 1

 Week 17 -PG 2

I just realized other than 1 Random Pocket Page,
I have not shared any of my PL pages here...
though I have done so on Instagram.

You know what that means...
Expect some TBT  (Throw Back Thursday) posts!

Just a heads up as I get more used the Project Life, I can tell you right now some of my older pages I'm not as happy with...
But it's a learning process!
::shrugs::

04/11/18 - St Pattys / Christmas in January

2 different types of layouts
2 different years
2 different holidays

Both created this month:

12x12 Pocket Page w/ (1) digital PL card printed from the PL App: "So Much Fun"

"California Irish Festival"
(click to enlarge and read journaling)

I've gotten into pocket pages this year and I'm really loving them!
I also am learning new techniques as I get used to the format and I'm finding THAT fun.

I'll definitely be sharing more, even going back to my earlier ones... eventually.

Also - I've gotten into stamping...
Most stamps on this page are from Kelley Purkey.

12x12 Traditional Scrapbook Page
(Yes, the large circle is supposed to fall off the page)

"Whoville Xmas Time Celebration"
- Date 01/24/16

I'm hosting an Amusement Park Challenge and a Christmas Past challenge over at SB.com; this satisfies both the challenges.

Thanks for stopping by...
Hope all is well!

09/14/17 - Digital Project Life

Today I bring you some digital layouts.
These were created w/ the Project Life App.

These layouts represent three things I've never done and one thing I've rarely done, so rare you may as well say "never" also:

Never Done:
-Paid for an app
This app was $2.99
-Created a Digital Layout
-Created a Project Life "style" Layout

Rarely Done:
-Created a 2-page Layout

I am not a digital layout type of person always enjoying the process and look of "paper" layouts.
So before I share the layouts I want to explain why I decided to try the PL App.

I'm known for taking lots of photos in general and in some cases taking an over abundance of photos.
Sometimes I do this because the event warrants it.
Sometimes I do it just because I want multiple tries at capturing the perfect photos.
What happens in either case is I wind up w/ a lot of photos from 1 event.
Generally I can narrow them down to a few photos I really want, sometimes I want them all...
Whether I narrow them down or not, there are times when I have lots of photos I still want in my albums.
This overwhelms me and causes me to just "sit" on my photos.
Sit, and sit, and sit...
So I decided to see if the PL app would simplify the process and help me get those photos in to my albums!

Here are the layouts:

"Wahlburgers Vegas"
Page 1
(6 photos)

"Wahlburgers Vegas"
Page 2
( 7 Photos )

 "15th Anniversary Highlights"
(9 Photos)

Though they are digital, they are still Project Life style layouts which makes them very simple.
Just like you would place photos and Journaling/Picture cards into Pockets in a Project Life Sheet Protector, the same was done here...but digitally.

Sure I could create my own "grid like" layouts, and I still will occasionally, but this is less time consuming and less use of materials, plus I'm guaranteed neatness and straightness, LOL
#ForeverCrooked

What do I think of the app?

I think it's Super Easy and convenient!
I mean as long as I have the photos on my phone I can create a layout anywhere.

Fast shipping!
My order got to me sooner than they said it would! Though general turn around time is 7-10 business Days.

Great Quality!
My pages came on strong sturdy Kodak paper and the images were crisp and clear w/ no color alterations.
If you order a size 12x12 they are a true 12x12 and slide easily into a 12x12 Sheet Protector!
Also, my pages were packaged in a way that there was NO WAY they would have got bent!
In fact I had a little trouble getting them out, LOL

BTW -
You don't have to order 12x12 pages, they have various sizes if you decide you want to go a smaller so you can still adhere to a page and add your own "flair"
Sizes and prices are as follows:

12x12 = $1.99
8x8 = $0.99
6x8 = $0.29
4x5 = $0.29

There is a flat shipping rate of $5.00
This is great if you're ordering a lot pages, not so great if you're just ordering 1 or 2; I find that you would need to order at least 3 to make it worth it.

My total for the three 12x12 pages = $10.97
That includes shipping.
$3.66 a page.
As far as I'm concerned that's a bargain for getting your memories into your albums!

I will continue to do traditional scrapping because that is where my true scrappy love lies but I'm definitely using this app again!
I already feel that w/ the time I saved, the quality of the product, and the fact that I was able to get a good amount of photos out of my phone and into my albums, that I have already gotten my money's worth!
Total photos out of my phone and into my Scrapbook Album(s) = 22

FYI - there are many other options w/ this app as well but I just wanted to touch on what I thought was most important.
For more info you can visit the Project Life App site at this link:
Digital Project life App

---->> Edited to Add :
After writing this post I created these 2 layouts but I haven't yet ordered them.
Ordering will occur soon, however just wanted to share other styles and say that this is another  12 photos out of my phone that will soon be going into my album:

 (7 Photos)
I had to narrow down my photo choices here also but it seemed easier w/ digital scrapping... IDK why, LOL
I think part of it is it was because I didn't stress about figuring out which pictures were "photo paper" and "ink" worthy since I wasn't printing them myself... know what I mean?

(5 Photos)

Total Photos "scrapped": 34

Thanks for stopping by and reading this long post!
I'd love to know if you've ever tried or would like to tray the Project life App.

03/27/23 Planning with Urban Journal Season Ink

My printer was having issues and I fixed it but during the interim I was not scrapping and lost my mojo ::le sigh:: But I've still been ...
