04/12/16 - March "Gallery Inspiration" Challenge

Do you remember when I wrote about signing up for 2 "Inspiration" Challenges in March?
If not, here is the post: March Inspiration Challenge.

Unfortunately I  never got around to completing the 2nd Challenge...
I ran out of time during the month; it was the month of Madison's Spring Break and I had forgotten I would be "unavailable" for a week.
Fortunately for me the lady hosting the challenge is someone I've known at SB.com for a while now and she knows I'm not normally a "flake" and allowed me not only to complete the challenge and post whenever I could, but to participate in April's Challenge as well!
I'll be sharing a post about April's challenge at a later date!

Today I'm sharing March's (2nd) Challenge.

This is the layout that was chosen for me to lift:

"If The Shoe Fits"
SB.com link: If the Shoe Fits

I love circles and polka dots so it was definitely in my comfort-zone (That's kind cheating, isn't it? Well, I didn't choose it so it's okay).

And here is my lift:

"Like I Love You"
 Journaling:
"You never love yourself half as much as I love you
You'll never treat yourself right darling but I want you to
If I let you know, I'm here for you
Maybe you'll love yourself like I love you"

This photo is almost a year old and before I lost 28 pounds.
I don't particularly like it but it's one of the only photos I have of me and Madison because she hates to have her photo taken.
As I've mentioned before, in another post,  "You Don't Know You're Beautiful",  she has been going through issues w/ her self esteem and this is why I choose to include this photo along w/ the lyrics.
Even though the song is actually about a "romantic" type of  love, I really felt that these particular lyrics capture how I feel about Madison and how I wish she could see herself like I see her and love herself like I love her.
It took me YEARSSSSSSSS (yes that spelling is intentional) to learn to love myself and I'm really, truly hoping that w/ my love and guidance, Madison will discover that love for herself a LOT sooner!
I think it's moments like this that make it especially hard to have a daughter.

I don't want to leave this post on a "sad" note, so let me share one more thing...

I stated the inspiration piece was w/in my comfort zone, and it's true.
In fact I had created a layout similar to it, years ago, in 2012, although this one was based on a sketch:

"Madison and Joseph @ Laguna"

And to this day, it's still one of my favorite layouts!
So in that sense, the inspiration layout "inspired" me to go back to a design I love!
Challenge, successful!

  2. Beautiful pages! I especially love the way the colors pop on black. I too hope M finds her self-confidence and self-acceptance early. And speaking of loving one's self, you look beautiful in that photo and I can't imagine where you're hiding 28 extra pounds because it sure doesn't show.
