03/04/13 - 5 Challenges

Good Monday morning to you!
Hope you had a fabulous weekend!

Today I am sharing a layout that I had a lot of fun making and that wound up satisfying 5 challenges!

As a blog reader and DT member I come across a lot of posts where the author has shared a layout and then included a list of all the challenges it satisfies.  Some of those lists are LONG!

I have finally given myself the "approval" to stack challenges, but even w/ that I find it hard to incorporate more than 1 or 2 on a layout.
Not sure why exactly.
I think most of the time I just forget to.

I created this layout yesterday morning:

"This Pic"
Journaling: "Christmas 2010.
Not a very "Christmasy" picture but there's just something about
the way Madison looks in it that I love!"

I went a little "crazy" making it, but it was so much fun!

And this is the list of Challenges it satisfies:
SB.com Challenges -
> March "Leftovers" challenge - everything on here is a leftover including the BG paper which has a hole in it that I covered w/ my pic and all my goodies.

> March "5 Ingredients" challenge - ingredients:
1. Pink ("beautiful" sticker)
2. Distressed (snowflakes)
3. Texture (snowflakes, brads)
4. Layer (all elements of the layout were layered)
5. Large Letters (the letters in the word "Pic")

> March "4 Categories" challenge -
Category #1/Product - Alphas: use alphas from at least 2 different packs.
Also completed the twist which is to use letters in an unusual way; i.e. not in a word. I used 2 red "x"s to mimic stitching on my journaling box.

Blog Challenges -
> Twisted Tuesdays: Use brads or buttons and paper piercing. I used brads so techinically my paper was "pierced" when I put them on my page"

>Scrap Your Story: Scrap 1 photo

5 total.
And if you think that's impressive, that's nothing compared to what I have seen during on my blog-reading rounds!

TFSB!

  2. I always personally try to combine challenges because it helps make my creations easier to get down onto paper. I will usually pic a sketch (I almost always use sketches) and then sometimes a color combo and then a theme and maybe a technique challenge. By the time I'm done piling on the challenges all the hard work of figuring out what I am going to add to a layout has been done for me! LOL. As a challenge owner I know some are particular about you combining challenges, but I see it as free advertising. I have found some of my favorites to play along with by following an link to see an entry for one challenge blog and seeing an intriguing one in the list. :) Thanks so much for playing along with us at Scrap Your Story....hope you'll be back! :)

  8. I'm in awe! Love the layout, and just enjoy your creativity. I don't think I'd be very good at figuring out what I *need* on a layout, or maybe some techniques I don't know. I guess that would be why they call it a "challenge," huh?!? :)

  10. Wow way to go incorporating so many challenges! I'm lucky to usually combine just a couple. Love the cute photo and the different embellies you included. Thanks for playing along with Scrap Your Story's first challenge!

  12. Lovely layout Doreena. In Australia it's not so common to combine challenges. Most scrap challenge blogs require that layouts entered are solely for that challenge. Although some do allow combining of different challenges. I had a big surprise when I visited some US scrap-blogs and saw 1 l/o in no less than 15 challenges! lol :-)
