11/08/12 - SIT Sketch #92

Good Morning!

Today Sketches in Thyme is revealing their first sketch for the Month of November.

 Here is the sketch:

And here is what I did w/ it:

"Boo-Yah"

Since it was assigned to us during October, I was in the "Halloween" mood so I decided to scrap a couple of pics of my daughter from Halloween of last year
I didn't really have a story to tell about these pics, but I made sure to include the important stuff:
  • the year
  • her name (especially since w/ the mask on you can't tell who it is!)
  •
I am a big advocate of journaling, but I think it's okay to skip it every once in a while.
And I made my title small so it wouldn't over power the pictures. It's in the lower left hand corner overlapping the double paper strip border and corner of the pic :  "Boo-yah!"
That wasn't actually the title I had in mind.
In fact I didn't have a title in mind! But I came across a "monster" sticker sheet in my stash and thought that "Boo-yah" was as good a title as any!

I used up some scraps and old product too:
The polka dot paper is a scrap piece and the yellow circle, light blue "chain" border, and circle clown hat embellie are all from that 8x8 pad of paper I shared w/ you last week; if you remember, they are approximately 10 years old. The letters used for "Madi" are over 2 years old.

And lately I have been in love w/ twine!!! I usually use it by tying it in a bow, but this time, because of the flourish in the sketch, I decided to kinda just let it coil itself around my layout. Just a little glue here and there helped to hold the shape and keep the twine from falling of the layout.
I think it came out pretty good, if I do say so myself!!!

Well, enough about me!
It's your turn!
Stop by the SIT blog to see the rest of the layouts created by my fellow DT mates and to enter your take on the sketch!
