The Scrapbook.com "Round Robin Challenge":
"There are teams of 4 people, one person for each week, similar to a relay race. The person assigned for week 1 in each group will start their team off with a layout depending on what the specs and twist will be. Then the following week, everyone assigned to week 2 will lift off their week 1 team member and so on. It's fun to see how a lift progresses from the first week to the fourth."
On this edition of "Round Robin" I was player #1 and we were assigned a "Mood Board" for our inspiration:
Though I know Mood Board Challenges are popular, I've never actually played along w/ them.
I was a little nervous, especially since I was the first one on my team.
I was mainly nervous because I tend to take challenges like this way to literal...which is why I never play along on my own.
But eventually I had to tell myself to stop over thinking it and just focus on what stood out to me and this is what I came up w/:
"Ginger Spice"
Journaling:
"Joseph wanted to lighten his dark hair; over the years it went from blonde to dark brown. He used a blonde boxed dye and I warned him it would lighten but not be blonde. This is what happened. He loves it! I love it and I jokingly call him Ginger Spice though he prefers Peter Pan. 6.18.17"
Can you figure out what I was inspired by?

I was inspired by the photo of the girl showing off her hair (style) and the photo of the wedding invitation in the shape of a large hexagon: thus I chose to scrap my son's (new) hair (color) and use hexagons as a design element.
Though it's a simple layout I actually really like it!
I guess I can handle mood boards after all...
Tell me, have you ever played along w/ a mood board?

That's really cool! When I look at mood boards, I have a hard time seeing beyond the colors. I didn't even notice the hexagons. I'm hope you'll post what the rest of your team makes based off your layout.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the above! You always have an awesome way of thinking outside the box. I would have totally gone for the colors too!
