06/28/18 - June 2018 "Ugly Paper" Challenge

Just sharing my layout for the June 2018 "Ugly Paper" Challenge

12x12
Traditional

Here are the rules of the challenge:

1. After signing up, the host gives your name and address to another participant
2. The other participant sends you 2 "ugly" papers and at least one ugly embellishment
3. You MUST use both papers; the embellishment(s) is optional
4. You are allowed to use other items as well, as long as the 2 "ugly" papers are included in the layout
5. You are allowed to alter the papers and, if used, the embellishment(s) but they must still be recognizable

 The original Papers/Embellishment:

(Just FYI - my partner knows I don't care for "baby" papers or "flower" paper ... she tried to stump me, but I actually like these!)

 My creation:

"Hey There, Adventure"

The journaling reads:
"When I told Madison her Daddy was in the sky getting ready to jump out of a plane, this is what she did.
February 18, 2007"

Photos from when my husband went Tandem Skydiving back in...2007; geez time flies!
My daughter was only 5 at the time - she's now 16.
I have not scarpped a single photo of this event so I'm glad to finally have done so... 11 years later!

If you can't tell I did use both of the ugly papers: the BG is the airplane paper and the roses around my daughter's photo I fussy cut out of  the rose PP.
I did not use the Ugly Embellishment.
I tried, I really did, but in the end it just did not work!

*BTW - I realized as I was posting the photo on Instagram that I used the BG paper upside down!
Oops, LOL .... Oh well!

TFL!

06/21/18 - Project Life Week 18 /Early Mother's Day

Hello there!
Though I haven't been around much I have still been scrapping!
If you follow me on IG you know it's true, because I do share my layouts more consistently there.
I'm mostly just chugging along on the PL Train...
Today I am sharing a Digital Pocket Page and 12x12 Traditional Layout.

Project Life - Week 18

Digital Pocket Page
Project Life App

I went digital with this one because my "Justin Timberlake" Meme is 4x4 and was not able to find a way to make it work in a way I liked in a traditional Pocket Page, plus I wanted to do a 12x12 Traditional page for my "(Early) Mother's Day" photos...
The good thing about it though is this allows both pages to sit back-to-back in one page protector which is not something you could do w/ Traditional Pocket Page and a Traditional Scrapbook page.
I used the Free Form Text Function to journal directly on my photos.
I am loving this function so much...
You will see I use it a lot in the upcoming PL pages I share.
I am proud to say that I have already scrapped Weeks 19, 20, 21 and am currently working on 22.
Not bad considering we are currently in Week 25 of the year!

Project Life Week 18 - Companion Page
"Early Mother's Day"

Journaling:
"Joseph came down from where he lives, Victorville-an hour away, to watch "Infinity War" w/ David. After, I met up w/ them at "Red Robin" for Lunch; Joseph's treat.
Then it was home where we hung out a bit, Joseph spent some time w/ Spotty, and I eventually fell into a food coma
- AKA - took a nap.
May 5th, 2018"

Thanks for stopping by!

06/06/18 - May 2018 "Ugly Paper" CHallenge

Bringing you some "ugly" today...
my latest "Ugly Paper Challenge" layout, that is!

First a reminder of the rules (you can skip this part if you already know them):

And now on w/ the show:
"May Uglies"

"Some Things Never Change"

12x12
Traditional Scrapbook Layout

I cut the Spider Man embellishments out of one of the papers and punched small and large half-circles, including one w/ a cartoon spider in it, out of the other paper.
I cut out the row of eyelets, and the peeled off the self-adhesive wavy ribbon (above the eyelets), from one of the ugly embellishments.

My son in 2001 and in 2017 dressed up as Spider Man, one of his favorite Super Heroes...
how perfect was that ?! LOL

03/27/23 Planning with Urban Journal Season Ink

My printer was having issues and I fixed it but during the interim I was not scrapping and lost my mojo ::le sigh:: But I've still been ...
