02/22/21 - "Surprise: On This Day"

6x8 Traditional Page Layout
Part of my month of February for 2021 Project Life

Finally used the large Freckled Fawn wood veneer I had in my stash for over a year.
Documenting a pouch a friend of mine made me in the theme of my favorie show: "Schitt's Creek"

The photo on the pouch is of David Rose, a character from "Schitts Creek", and the quote is something he says on the show. He has many iconic quotes; actually the entire show does...
including "Ew, David", said by another character, which you can see on my face mask in the BG.
Coincidentally my husband's name is David so that is an especially favorite quote, LOL!

02/12/21 - "Love You So Much" (Counterfeit Kit Inspired)

One of the reasons I decided to revive my blog is I missed playing along w/ Blog Challenges.

Sure I could play along w/ Blogs and post on IG but some Blogs do not have an IG account to to tag and I want to be able to "tag" the inspiration behind some of my layouts.

For instance this layout was inspired by The Counterfeit Challenge Blog:

Their current challenge has us counterfeiting the following kit:

I used to play along w/ this blog frequently but stopped, even before I (temporarily) closed down my blog, because I didn't enjoy making a kit before-hand and then having to put way all the pieces of the kit I didn't use. We Scrapbookers have enough trouble keeping our scrappy supplies organized, amirite?! LOL! So I took a different approach that was still in the spirit of the overall challenge, which was to go through my full scrappy stash to mimic items I saw in the inspiration kit.

In the end I still used the inspiration kit to inspire my layout and I still used my scrappy stash to create my layout!

2021 Project Life Intro Page

This is my 4th year doing Project Life
The first 2 years I did Weekly Spreads
Last year I decided to change it up and do Monthly: I liked it much better!
I love the flexibility of not having to necessarily put the photos in order and w/ Weekly Spreads, I struggled w/ the weeks that had either too many photos or not enough.
Monthly allows me to fit what ever photos I want, where ever I want, as long as they occurred during the month I am documenting.

Only drawback: having to wait until the end (ish) of the month to figure out what photos I have to work w/...but that's a small drawback!

Needless to say, I am doing Monthly Spreads for 2021

Here is my Intro Page for 2021:

Fun Fact: I have never created a dedicated "Intro Page" for my Project Life Albums.
This years I was inspired to do so by the Freckled Fawn "2021" wood veneer and several of the Studio Calico Pocket Page cards... and  also the various 2021 postings I found on Instagram; you know I love my IG posts!

Reading 2020/2021

The layout I'm sharing today does not include the last photo taken in 2020, that can be seen here: Last Photo of 2020, but it is the last layout in my 2020 Project Life Album.
- Note: I'm not done w/ PL 2020 just yet, I still have to go in and fill in some of the holes in the earlier months.

The story behind the story: Though usually an avid reader, I didn't get much reading done in 2020.

While most people were reading more due to the lockdown I was reading less. Mostly because as someone who was still working full-time and still had mostly all the same responsibilities I've always had, but w/ the increased workload due to working in HR and the fact that we are the source of information and the Unit responsible for tracking COVID cases for our Workplace (of 700 employees) I was actually very busy and very tired in 2020!

So after that long winded explanation, in conclusion, I only read 1 book and 6 "essays" in 2020.

This layout documents that and my Reading Goals for 2021.
Wish me luck!
