05/23/20 - "Rain, Rain Go Away..."

Hi, all!
Here is a 12x12 Traditional Paper layout I created today:

"Rain, Rain Go Away (Hamlet Needs to Pee!)"

Journaling:
"Rain, rain go away Hamlet needs to pee! Today it rained all day...hard! When I tried to let Hamlet out in the morning to go potty, he refused. He held it until 7:09 PM, wow! When he came in he was covered in rain drops and he left cute wet hoof prints on the mat in our kitchen.
Date: 28 Nov 2019"

I included a funny, theme appropriate, meme I found on Instagram.

This was created primarily for the "Scrap Lift The Person Before You" challenge. I scrap lifted this layout:

EMS - Giraffe Snapshot

And I want to point out that the BG paper, photo mat paper, and the journaling card are hella old!

TFSB!

05/18/20 - "Use Your Stuff Challenge" #398

The current challenge over at "Use Your Stuff" is Patterned Paper.
As you may know I have been really into Pocket Pages lately, and though I do create Traditional Pages as well, I create way more Pocket Pages!
In doing so I am using a good amount of my Pocket Page Cards stash, which was a huge goal of mine this year, but this means I've been neglecting my Patterned Paper stash... and I have plenty of that as well!
So I decided, for this challenge to create Pocket Cards out of my Patterned Paper. I also used Traditional Pocket Page cards, so this layout is the best of both worlds!

"Hello, Early Summer"
Journaling: "We had to get Fat Boy a bigger pool because he outgrew his old one"

You can see Hamlet's old pool behind the new one; quite a difference!
The new pool is wider but also taller so we had to cut the side to allow for easier entry.
Even w/ this, Hamlet's short little legs still struggle to climb in, LOL
In these photos he's bobbing for ice cubes...

Okay back to the design details...
Here's the papers I used:

They, and the matching stickers, have been in my stash for at least 2 years (I think more though).

Not only did I use the (blue side of) the bottom paper for a couple of the pockets, but I also cut half-circles out of it to use as embellishments to add a bit more balance to the layout... plus I was trying to use it up!

So there you have it, you don't have to use Patterned Papers for just Traditional layouts, just like you don't have to use Pocket Page Cards for just Pocket Pages.
I just love how versatile scrapbooking can be!

05/12/20 - Introvert COVID Edition

Hi everyone,
How is it going in your part of the world?!

Things are still well here.
They recently lifted the Mandatory Mask requirement in my County, so I'm happy about that, though my workplace still requires it (bummer!).

Anyway. today I am sharing a layout I created for a blog challenge.
It's been a while since I've completed a challenge for a blog, other than the one I'm on the Design Team for.

I played along w/ the current challenge over at the "More Than Words" blog.
Their Main Challenges are based on a word inspiration and a creative challenge.

This is the current challenge criteria:
Word Inspiration - Funny
Creative Challenge - Stripes

Pretty sure, w/ my layout, I got both covered!
A 2-page spread in my BOM (Book of Me)

"Introvert COVID Edition"

Journaling: "That moment when...quarantine has you missing your friends, but you're still an introvert at heart."
LOL

As you all know I am an introvert... and this comic I came across on Instagram really spoke to me...
cuz seriously, it is me!
I mean, if I had friends, bahahahahaha!

Fun Fact, the alpha stamps I used are the first set of (foam) stamps I ever bought, ever, when I started scrapbooking over 22 years ago!

05/09/20 - "2 Cute Jerks" and "Fig Hunter"

Today I'm sharing w/ you a couple of recently completed Pet Layouts.

The First Layout -
12x12 Traditional Paper layout:

Journaling:
Left -
"Our neighbor's cat, Jones. He sleeps on our porch all the time but won't let me pet him. #CatsAreJerks"

Right-
"Panini and Jones on our porch. I think this is the closest they'll ever get to being friends! #CatsAreJerks x 2"

I love to jokingly say "cats are jerks" so that's how I came up w/ the title.
My goal for this page was to use up some old, actually more like ancient, Project Life cards.
I used 2 of them, the tan and yellow pieces, as one of the layers behind my photos.
Everything else on here is also stash items, except the BG. A few other items fall into the "ancient" category also.

.
.

The Second Layout -
Is also a 12x12 Traditional Paper layout and is the only layout I completed on iNSD (inter-National Scrapbooking Day)

Journaling:
"Hamlet loves our neighbors' fig tree! Actually, more specifically, the figs that fall from that tree. What Hamlet doesn't know is, before I let him outside, I pick up approximately 90% of those figs. My Fat Boy DOES NOT need any extra calories, nor the sugar!
November 24th, 2019"

This layout was also part of a challenge over at SB.com
The challenge was to select the oldest layout in our gallery, where we used stamps, and use it to inspire our new layout.
See the original layout below, which I created on July 3rd 2006; back in the day when stamps were wooden.
I used the same stamps on my new layout.
The stamps are the small wooden alpha sets you used to be able to find in the Walmart craft section...remember those?

Completing the new layout I reminded me how hard it was to line up wooden stamps, but I did have fun trying!
I may break them out again, I mean since I still have them!

"Silly" (created in 2006)

BTW - this is Madison wearing her (clean) underwear on her head back when she was 3.
She's always been a character.... wonder where she gets that from, LOL
Actually it's both me and my husband.
Poor girl had no chance! ::wink::

The new layout is made of all stash items (except the enamel dots).
I'm really making a dent this year and couldn't be happier about it!

05/04/20 - "Use Your Stuff Challenge" #397

Ready for a new "Use Your Stuff" Challenge?
For the next 2 weeks our challenge to you is to use flowers and/or butterflies on your project.

When it comes to scrapbooking I am not a flower girl.
As a matter of fact I'm not really a flower girl IRL either, unless they are growing in my garden. Come to think of it, I'm also not much of a butterfly girl unless, again, they're in my garden.
So it was tough trying to decide which I would use for the challenge until I came across this Simple Stories PP that I have had in my stash for a few years now.

W/ it, I created this 12x12 Traditional Paper layout:

"Before Work Cuddles"

Me and Hamlet cuddling on the floor.
A morning ritual before I head out for work... which makes it very difficult to leave!
And yes, it's a "selfie".

8x10 photo ordered by mobile app from Walgreens

The emoji is also from Simple Stories
The "Sweet Moments" is from American Crafts
All the alphas are from Studio Calico

05/02/20 - Food and Laughs

Today is Inter-National Scrapbook Day!
I hope to get some scrapping in since I'm actually home and have nothing otherwise planned (wait, isn't that everyone right now?! LOL)

But for right now, let me share w/ you my latest:

A one-page, 12x12 Traditional Paper layout

Includes
- an 8 and 1/2 x 11 handout from the event, and
- a 4x4 photo of our dinner after

The photo is in a 4x4 Simple Stories flip pocket which is stuck to the outside of the 12x12 page protector so that you can flip it up to read the hidden journaling and the covered part of the handout.
Notice the tab w/ the Kellie Stamps "flip this" stamp stamped on it to advise you of the hidden journaling:

"Three Stooges Festival 2019" (1 of 2)

"Three Stooges Festival 2019" (2 of 2)

Hidden Journaling: "After enjoying the 22nd Annual Three Stooges Movie Festival, we feasted!
Our new tradition started in 2018:
The Three Stooges Festival followed by a delicious dinner of Middle Eastern food at The Carousel restaurant."

This was only the 2nd year we did this but it is something we look forward to.
My husband mostly for the Three Stooges, me mostly for the food, bahahaha!

Speaking of food...
Here is a page I recently created for my (6x8) BOM:

Totally me, LOL
And "yes" that is food washi tape, bought at Target
I used scraps from my stash for the papers
The "food" stamps are all from Citrus Twist
The utensils stamp is from Elle's Studio
The filmstrip washi, from Queen & Company, is one of my faves. Unfortunately they don't sell it anymore. I'm going to be sad when the roll is finished.

03/27/23 Planning with Urban Journal Season Ink

My printer was having issues and I fixed it but during the interim I was not scrapping and lost my mojo ::le sigh:: But I've still been ...
